707861 2008-09-25 23:43:00 What do you guys think of it??

Remember: This is only a M3 build - it WILL change significantly in terms of functionality and appearance before it goes to RTM.

But I'm still interested in what you guys think of it so far :)

"Microsoft has decided that Windows 7 won't include built-in programs for e-mail, photo editing, and movie making, as was done with Windows Vista"

The more they take out, the better I'll like it.

707864 2008-09-26 01:05:00 From what I've heard Wordpad and Paint get the Office 2007 interface :D, but Notepad misses out. pcuser42 (130)
707865 2008-09-26 01:08:00 Notepad misses out.

I should hope so too! Geez, how difficult would that make things!

Just the kind thing M$ would do. :D

707866 2008-09-26 01:11:00 IMO it's too simple for the ribbon. pcuser42 (130)
707867 2008-09-26 01:14:00 Exactly. That's what makes it so good. wratterus (105)
707868 2008-09-26 01:46:00 Windows 7 won't include built-in programs for e-mail, photo editing, and movie making Oh sure that will work - like hell !!!

Lots of people already complain that they cant work windows mail as its to different to outlook Express - try telling them they will have to either use live mail OR purchase Office with outlook, or download another third party client.

Live Mail - thats a joke - I have seen it cause SO many problems 9 out of 10 people ask to have it removed.
And what about existing mail ??? upload that to windows live - FORGET it.

Photo editing - seen many people use the Vista editing - works well for basic touch ups / cropping etc.

Half the problems with the current Vista is the name Brand PC's loading all their Crap - The other day I reinstalled a Dell ( yeah I know Crap any way) with a straight install of Vista instead of the Dell restore - right away it was a LOT faster and the people actually thought I had upgraded the spec, it was so different.

707870 2008-09-27 02:29:00 They need to fix the crap that is the registry and I reckon it should be more modular so you can install only what you need. mikebartnz (21)
