| 706952 | 2008-09-22 23:41:00 | If you go Here (www.scan.org.uk) you can get the whole raft of weird Scottish weights and measures including the mutchkin (4 gills) and the chopin (8 gills). Then there's the joug, with which we are a little more familiar............ Getting back to the topic, I don't think there is a standard for shot glass capacity, as the wiki seems to confirm. | 706953 | 2008-09-23 10:06:00 | Thank you good people. Gary67 that was what I was after. Billy T I didn't mean a shot glass as such but a measure of spirit as served in a pub. This came about because a couple I know have all but one of a set of imperial copper measuring vessels. Very nice they are. |

| 706954 | 2008-09-23 16:33:00 | I've got a few gravity dispensers which were discarded from a pub I worked at in the UK. But I can't think how to measure the volume dispensed accurately. | Greg (193) | ||
| 706955 | 2008-09-23 20:51:00 | The volume dispensed is irrelevant. It's the taste and the effect that are the important things! :D (Though certainly, the volume dispensed has a direct impact on the effect) |

That's OK, but the shot glass was the original measure for use in bars before the fancier methods were developed. Greg, you can check the pub dispenser capacity by draining it into a medicine measure. You might have to take two bites at it though if it is more than 50ml. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
