Just checking, a mobo the runs SATA natively but not IDE will quite happily boot off a USB external drive, or an internal drive off a PCI card?
I'm sure they would (and will) but want to clarify before getting hold of an enclosure or PCI IDE card |

That depends. If the BIOS supports booting from external USB devices (there will be an option in the BIOS). If there isnt then no. It'll probably detect the card (the card has probably got some kind of boot menu on it somewhere). |

Pretty much all will, but as Speedy said, a few may not have the required BIOS options. |
