826349 2009-11-02 01:30:00 Got a friend's laptop here that I want to get onto my adsl connection to update it (he's on dial-up). It has a stuffed ethernet port so I want to hook it up via the USB port. I have done this before with my 502T and, from memory, I just plugged them together. Maybe!!

With my ST536 the XP sees a USB come up but can't find a driver. Tried to find drivers to no avail. The Telecom CD is no help as it just looks for ethernet.

Anyone point me in the right direction, please?

826350 2009-11-02 01:54:00 If this is the Thomson ST536 youre talking about, even if you manage to install the USB drivers, it looks like it asks for the username / password to log in. You probably wont be able to do this (since its already there), with the ethernet connection Speedy Gonzales (78)

826352 2009-11-02 02:30:00 No probs, unless you've got a ethernet hub hiding somewhere? Speedy Gonzales (78)
826353 2009-11-02 04:54:00 Internet via USB? Ugh.

826354 2009-11-02 07:11:00 I don't use the USB port. I only want it to update this confounded laptop with the crook ethernet socket!!!! As I said, I did it once before so it was handy for this specific use. Bit frustrating to see the USB port and not know how to use it for an hour or so. linw (53)
