826162 2009-11-01 07:56:00 Hello,
I am intending to buy a new cooler for an i7, and the coolers I seen - TRUE, Xigmatek - are nearly all around the 16cm height mark, and I am concerned whether it would fit into my small case (ATX - Mid/MiniTower i guess - its got 7 expansion slots)
The width of the case at max is only about 18.5 cm

Please help!

826165 2009-11-01 08:23:00 Thanks, but do they ACTUALLY fit in my 18.5cm wide case?
The mugen is like 15.8cm high...
Seriously, has anyone tried putting these tall coolers into smaller cases?

826166 2009-11-01 08:28:00 May i ask why you need an aftermarket cooler? Are you intending to OC?

This looks pretty good and is only 92mm high

826167 2009-11-01 09:24:00 Yes, I am intending to overclock - the i7s past 3.6Ghz at least :-)
By the way - the 92mm is the fan, the actual thing is 143mm - reasonable.
But I actaully want to buy a Mugen-type cooler (i.e. that kind of size cooler), so I really want to ask whether that would fit into my case...
Anyone tried it yet with a 18.5cm wide case?
