That enough reasons?Maybe you have better re think the link - a wild card vista search brings up Vista Downloads, home pages and just about every thing with the word Vista in it - including place names and cities around the world - hardly a " whats wrong with Vista response"

At the end of the day it wouldn't matter what MS does with Vista or Windows 7 somebody will complain that somethings not right .

What about when XP first came out - complaints galore about things not working - and even now after all these years it still has problems .

707903 2008-10-02 04:20:00 Oh, tell me, whats wrong with Vista.

There is nothing wrong with, I have it on my laptop. But it is hardly worth paying to get it if you are on XP. It does not offer many new features.

So unless Windows 7 offers some new features people wont upgrade to it either.

But look at how many more people use (and prefer) XP over Vista now. IMO all it takes is a fair bit (no, ALOT) of public exposure and a good level of stability of the newer OS for people to buy it.

Now people want XP back - because it's tried and tested and works well. Hardly anyone today would want Windows 2000 back instead of Windows Vista.

707905 2008-10-02 08:11:00 That's the whole point of the comment I made - When XP first came out, and basically up until SP2 there were lots of complaints - Vista's biggest competition, and even MS have said this is XP.

While it would have been nice for Vista to be perfect from the beginning - No OS ever will be.

One question that no one can honestly answer is this - IF MS didn't do anything towards Windows 7 and spent the next 6-7 years working on improving Vista like they have with XP, where would Vista be. I know its a question no one can answer, because no one knows.

Will Windows 7 be any better ??? one hopes it will - we'll have to wait and see.

I use both XP and Vista every day - Personal preference ? I dont have one - XP seems so "plain" after using Vista.

What i would love is to attend this - got an invite/ Application form to attend today through technet --(part of the letter)
Have you heard that PDC2008 is the place to see the coolest new technology, and get your hands on the latest pre-beta bits - including Windows 7? Attendees will also receive a 160 GB drive of all PDC bits.

At this year’s Professional Developers Conference, October 27 - 30 in Los Angeles, attendees will get more than 20 sessions on Windows 7, and learn about new shell enhancements, best practices for Windows 7 development, and how to take advantage of new Windows 7 technology, including touch computing, new APIs for ---- Its in LA :crying

They even give you a letter for the Boss  Part of it --
I enjoy my job and have always appreciated how well you manage me. As you know, I don’t ask for much. I am a humble employee with simple needs, and I would like to attend Microsoft’s Professional Developer’s Conference in Los Angeles, October 27th-30th.---- ( further on ) I promise I won’t come home empty handed. I just read that they are making Windows 7 available to attendees!

Try Google on "Vista + Disaster" to crack about 5,050,000 hits.
It is surely a powerful system.
(It is good enough that many states in the USA have a "Vista Disaster Recovery Corps". Well, okay, maybe a different Vista etc.) :help: :D
