All the more for Panasonic, Sony and Samsung.

707406 2008-09-26 18:44:00 Its not their quality that annoys me with Philips, its the way their TV's and DVD players and Video players not working together very well. Digby (677)

Possibly, it's an historic thing - our first TV (in 1964) was a B&W Philips 26" - used it until the early 80's and it didn't miss a beat once.

Of course this is the period when Philips were still being made in Europe (and were correspondingly expensive)...

Wouldn't buy one now though - or any Philips product for that matter.

707408 2008-09-26 21:19:00 I seem to recall that early TV's in NZ were largely Phillips, or Phillips kitsets in a variety of cases. The somewhat weird variations were largely reserved by Phillips for their own brand though (Hi-Z speakers etc.) R2x1 (4628)
707409 2008-09-26 22:32:00 Philips K9 Colour TV was the best of its time for years. Reliable with advanced servicing features. zqwerty (97)
