| 707064 | 2008-09-23 02:45:00 | I rang them. Dunno who Philip C is but he's misinformed. As for your fees, thats hardly Xnets problem - change banks if they are robbing you. Direct debit payers get a small discount. It is xnets problem, if they made the billing error. All banks will charge fees for deposits and withdrawals, and it is basically a conseqential loss under the CGA. It is hardly the banks fault, and it isn't mine, it is Xnets. I just want to know why xnet haven't communicated with their customers about this error or billing change. They are also required to provide a 10 day written notice on any withdrawals by direct debit, as per the terms on the direct debit form . This is why I dislike direct debits, becuase you are trusting these companies to debit your bank account for the right amount. |

I am with an Oz owned one, National Bank, and I think they all charge for normal current accounts. I know TSB don't charge, if you have got a $5000 balance. |

Did they credit back bank fees too, as my bank would change me $1.30 for a debit + a credit to my account, which isn't an insignificant fee. We haven't received any "We have just started billing in advance so this was not a mistake. From now on bills will be sent out prior to the month. Kind Regards Philip.C" I think you must be the only one to receive such an email, as I and others on here have not received anything from them. When I phoned them and spoke to Jackie in Sales and Billing, she said nothing of the sort. Kiwibank have no fees either and as far as I know the National Bank is owned by Scotland. Unless they have sold it to the aussies. :) |

It is a concern that Xnet staff are giving their customers incorrect information . The email I got was from "Phillip Cummings via RT" from the help at xnet . co . nz email address . this clearly stated, QUOTE We have just started billing in advance so this was not a mistake . From now on bills will be sent out prior to the month . Kind Regards Philip . C I have emailed them back, but no reply yet |

WXC need to get their a into g and advise their customers as to what is going on exactly. I am wondering if billing in advance is going to be for new joiners, but I don't see how they can bill in advance if they don't know how much data, tolls etc you have used. It will all end up like having an estimated reading and the following month a true reading. What do other companies do I wonder? |

What they do with Slingshot, is that they bill you for the base plan (eg 29.95 without data) in advance, and then add the data usage at the end of the month, which they bill with the next months prepay period, which is a good way to do it. Prepay would make sense, especially in todays credit crisis, as they probably get quite a few people who don't pay their bills on time or at all. |

| 707072 | 2008-09-23 10:27:00 | I noticed the same with my August bill, noticed I had been charged: Broadband Plan - Fusion (username) - 01/09/2008-30/09/2008 - $62.18 as well as the same for July. I must admit that the size of the bill gave me a wee bit of a shock. |
