| 826409 | 2009-11-02 03:03:00 | I have a Windows 7 Machine (details below) that was working for the most part fine. I had a sound issue that I could live with. I tried to upgrade VMWare Workstation and it hung mid install and there was no unistall option under Windows Programs. I did a system restore and that didn't work for some reason and now I have no keyboard for Windows. The keyboard (Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 3000) works in the preboot environment (eg in BIOS) and on another PC but no keyboard, wireless or wired, works once windows has booted up. Originally I had a registry error (high filter) which I have worked through and fixed. I then had a driver issue so I downloaded the latest Windows 7 drivers for the keyboards but that didn't solve the issue either. According to device manager all drivers are good. Any suggestions?
