827368 2009-11-05 06:09:00 :help: I'm looking to setup a fax server to auto-reply incoming messages and plan to make this available to the IT community at no charge. "A fax test service".

I need some advice to set this up. Planning to setup a Hylafax server with auto responder. Does anyone know how to configure either 1. Hylafax Server or 2. a Hylafax client such a YajHFC to auto respond to incoming messages. I plan to set this up on my favorite linux distro Debian 5 "Lenny"

I reckon since the big players aren't offering this service anymore somebod needs to fill the gap.

I plan to make this available 24x7 on one dedicated fax line.

Thanks in advance.

827369 2009-11-05 06:17:00 Maybe look into a VoIP fax line?
Asterisk (open source PBX) can do fax to email, and back again, maybe you could do something there?

All runs on debian

Cheers

One question:
Can you recommend a biz where I can setup a free and reliable fax VOIP line?

Have fun with asterisk, it's often a challenge to setup, but is very rewarding :)

827373 2009-11-06 23:12:00 Has anyone heard of something that can do the following?

I am playing around with a fax server and I have managed to get faxes to be received as emails in my inbox from a VOIP fax service.

Is there a way that will remove a phone number from part of the subject line and use that number to send the received email back to the originator as a fax. As part of a free fax test service. Or automatically fax back with Hylafax?

827374 2009-11-11 06:56:00 Hi I am working on a call back server and have the following code:
I downloaded Visual C++ Express 2008. But the compiler can't find fstream.h.
Anybody know where I can find fstream.h suitable for this compiler - thanks in advance.

#include "stdafx.h"
#include <fstream>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main ()
{
char buffer[256];
ifstream myfile ("C:\Users\andreas\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profi les\e0b3yswa.default\Mail\Local Folders\Inbox.");

while (! myfile.eof() )
{
myfile.getline (buffer,100);
cout << buffer << endl;
}
return 0;
}
