826837 2009-11-03 10:15:00 I have a situation with Windows 7 running on two computers. Computer '1' has 512meg RAM, and runs DOS programs well.

Computer '2' has 2gig RAM and will not run DOS programs.

How can I reduce the available RAM to 512meg or less for an individual program? I can reduce it for the whole computer (used to do this with ME), but not for an individual file.

Maybe that's the reason?
Have you ever used DosBoX?

The program I useuse is 'Professional File' (Data Base) have used it since 1988! (On 8meg RAM)
XP Sp1 used to run it, but after Sp2 I had to use DOS Box.

DOS Box works Ok in W7, but the colours are wrong eg:white becomes light brown etc. Runs Ok in a Window at 640x480 but looks messy.

I am sure it is a memory problem.
I will have a look for a later version of DOS Box.

826841 2009-11-03 22:01:00 Might be a an option to use Windows XP mode and run it in there. KiwiTT_NZ (233)
826842 2009-11-04 09:36:00 Downloaded a later version of Dos Box. Works well. Has adjustment for memory (set at 16) and a swag of video emulators, colours are Ok now.

I still think its odd that one computer needs Dos Box and the other does not. The main difference being the size of memory.
