708817 2008-10-01 19:49:00 There's more to choosing an ISP than their plans you know.
All sorts of reasons:

Customer Service
Consistency
and so on

Ah of course, most people want the good service, good speed (only reason I stayed with Telecom before now was because of my great speeds, everything else pretty much sucked), and yes, consistancy. But this change will either make or break them.

708818 2008-10-01 21:11:00 Only reason I stayed with them was because my download speed was almost 12,600Kbps with the average upload speed of 640Kbps . I don't upload much anyway, just a downloader .

I'll never test at speedtest . net again, I never get the right results, and it's the only test site that gives me crap results, as I've tried testing at 20 odd ones and all give me a download result of somewhere between 11Mbps-13Mbps . Damn you speedtest . net .

Why keep going on about the upload speed? As others have told you ADSL will never give you much higher upload speed . Your modem synchronises at a rate up to 1Mbps then some of that is used for protocol overheads before you get to count your upload speed to a test site . There's nothing wrong with 640kbps .

The result from today is 11,836kbps from Speedtest . That is in your expected range . Try doing something other than download tests .

Ah, it's all good. I was just stating an upload speed opinion. As for speed testing, I reckon vodafone and Slingshot are the best places to test your line speed, as they are the most accurate. Speedtest.net is one of the worst places to test, especially in the PM hours.

708820 2008-10-02 01:00:00 Just received mail from Telecom saying my data usage is increasing from 15GB to 40GB on 6th Oct.

But unfortunately I'm not being cabinetised until Jan 2011 :(

708821 2008-10-02 07:18:00 Is this just for ADSL2+? johnnyfrango (14148)

708823 2008-10-02 11:33:00 Anyone with Go Large got any emails about increase in speed or decrease in price?? Agent_24 (57)
708824 2008-10-02 17:38:00 Not all plans change. Nobody on Go will get anything new either. PaulD (232)
708825 2008-10-02 17:54:00 So perhaps it's time for me to switch from the old Discovery plan (10G a month?).

708826 2008-10-02 18:13:00 So I presume we'll see new plans from the other ISPs before long? johnnyfrango (14148)
