709495 2008-10-03 03:13:00 but rolling over for crims simply encourages them. then its not the odd one robbing you, its every cowardly lowlife. you are now easy pickings and regarded lower than dirt and they will not hesitate to kill you just for the hell of it.

give them an inch and they will take a mile.

Oh my god, you guys have overactive imaginations. Most crims just want money, without having to earn it. Do you think that Natjev Singh would have survived had he tried to fight back? No. Instead you guys think that every thief has stepped straight out of some psychotic film noir. Most thieves would just take the money and run.

He let them do their thing, but caught the short end of the straw. I say get a good surveilance system, make sure to know what they look like and call the cops.

But if you guys advocate dying for a 40ounce of bourbon, some cigarettes and half a days takings then be my guests. Die like the heroes you are.

But in my view, why the hell would you buy a liquor store, or dairy in South Auckland? Surely they all know it's dangerous as hell. You'd have to be crazy. :2cents:

20 years ago i would have said let them take what they want but not today.
They already have surveillance systems etc. these guys don't care that they get caught. look at all the violent robbery's where the offenders don't bother concealing themselves.

its not just about stealing goods anymore. its about the fun of doing it, becoming infamous. shooting a shop keeper is worth more than the cash/goods. shoot a cop and your a hero in certain circles.
if they where after $$$ they would be hitting banks. robbing a place for a pack of cig's they could have shoplifted, is more about the thrill of violence.

709498 2008-10-03 04:05:00 ****ing bull****, that's what that law is in NZ. The law fully defies the logic of justice itself. It should become legal to kill those bastards.

Punished to the full extant of the law.....if only it wasn't a ****ing joke in the first place.

709500 2008-10-03 04:50:00 Now that just sucks . Charging this guy for giving this low life a hiding is so wrong . The guy went there with a knife, he obviously thought he had the upper hand, he met the owner with a hockey stick - the knife lost .

There is something very wrong with this country, up until now I had chosen to believe that it wasn't all that bad, until today . It is obvious that asian shop owners are on edge after what has happened with Natjev so it is little wonder that they are arming themselves . They shouldnt have to second guess whether they will live or die when confronted despite obeying their demands .

We reap what we sow .

709501 2008-10-03 05:00:00 With a bit of luck, the shopkeepers will elect jury trial and the jury will throw the crap out. If that was to continue to happen then the police and justice system would start to get the message. Probably cost the poor bastards a fortune though as the ever present law sharks will be circling to "help" them defend themselves. Scouse (83)
709502 2008-10-03 05:45:00 Well guys, the reality is, the police have just(6 oclock news) charged the owner for being over enthuisiastic with his response.
I for one would have no problems beating the little ****s within an inch of their lives if they pulled a knife on me.
Why is it that those people who live outside the law, always scream for their rights under the law when they are caught.
The hiding that they got, may change their minds about robbing people.
If so it was a cheap lesson.
As for the boys in blue, if it wasn't for our pc, namby pamby, social engineering gone mad goverment, they (the police) would never prosecute.

May the beatings continue for those who menace and maim.

709503 2008-10-03 06:12:00 Bring in Texan law.
The right to use deadly force to protect one's life and/or property.

Sometimes I think a police state would not be so bad.

I would have to agree. Robbers are getting a lot more violent today .
