827186 2009-11-05 20:20:00 It pays to always have a spare administrator account in case the one you are using becomes corrupt for whatever reason. CYaBro (73)

Yea, Windows does run an built in "temp" user profile if yours is corrupt, but it doesn't always work every time..

827188 2009-11-05 22:28:00 I'd advise against using an administrator account as your normal account. You wouldn't do it in linux or OS X, so why do it in windows? utopian201 (6245)
827189 2009-11-05 22:58:00 Because in Windows it's default. In Linux it's not ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

827192 2009-11-07 05:05:00 you mean you would use root as your everyday account in linux and os x? utopian201 (6245)

Firstly, define which version of Linux, secondly, I won't use OS X until Psystar wins their batle against apple.

827194 2009-11-07 05:38:00 I do run as admin in Win 7 and always did in XP and the odd times I'm running Linux which isn't that often then I do as well. Wouldn't in soft fruit as I prefer a real computer that I can do what I want with rather than use an expensive piece of fruit gary67 (56)

That also means that malware or any other software can do whatever it wants when it gets onto your computer...
