| 710309 | 2008-10-07 07:23:00 | so we currently have a clasic xbox with mod chip a xbmc. we have a linux server with 300gb drive. using xbmc we can brows the samba share and then play almost any video format direct to the TV. if we upgrade to a xbox360 can we still play videos from samba share on the linux server?? what formats of video?? |

| 710310 | 2008-10-07 09:26:00 | Why would you want to upgrade? You won't have XBMC any more, the best media centre app ever! (Except for not having TV recording functions) Xbox360 is also a lot noisier. |

Only used as a media centre (very rarely used for playing games lol) Mike. PS Not trying to hijack the thread - just thought it fit well in this one. |

The Xbox 360 is not a good media player, the PS3 is a quite good media player, but the best (as long as you don't need to play high-def video) is an xbox running XBMC. |
