2009-11-09 06:26:00 | Hi, am keen on some advice as a search on google has yieled mixed results. I have a Sapphire 4870 512MB and will soon get a Palit 4870 1GB Sonic off a mate. Im pretty sure I can set this cards up Crossfire but dont quite understand the clock mismatch thing everyone seems to be talking about on Google Can someone confirm I shouldnt expect any issues? Also does the different memory amount matter? Cheers in advance T

2009-11-09 06:34:00 | thanks - i know the Palit is the factory overclock sonic version which has a switch onboard kinda like a turbo switch. The Sapphire is standard. Are you saying I cant Xfire in this case?

Are you saying I cant Xfire in this case? You can but i think the Sapphire will OC itself to the palit's clock speed (not 100% sure though) |

2009-11-09 07:33:00 | The OC'ed Palit will downclock to Sapphire's clockspeeds. Also since the Palit is 1GB it will match Sapphire's 512MB. | qazwsxokmijn (102) | |
2009-11-09 07:59:00 | You might as well get a 512mb one rather than a 1gb, unless you're getting it extremely cheap/free | Blam (54) | |
