709917 2008-10-06 02:03:00 Greetings all

First off YES I have looked at vodafones site, but i can't find any mention of price and conditions for just the plain vanilla prepay sim card

The wife needs a cell phone, in fact we have a cell phone that the sim card expired in and would like to replace it, we use our cell phones 3-4 times a month at the max, now my prepaid cell has to be topped up a minimum of $20 per year, but i can't seem to find this deal anywhere on the vodafone site does it still exist?

709918 2008-10-06 02:53:00 Yes - search for "motormouth" they make it bloody hard to find, and steer you to one that needs topping up about every month. Peter H (220)

I don't think you can get it anymore, as when I tried to get a new sim card at a vodafone store, I was told they only do supapreprey which requires you top up every 3 months. Therefore I got a telecom prepay phone, as they still do 12 month top ups.

709920 2008-10-06 05:52:00 Well if thats the case I may have to have a look at Telecom, although I'm guessing I'll need a whole new phone for that.

Anyway I'll give vodafone a ring tomorrow and see what they say about the top up situation

PS how much are simcards and do they work in 4 year old cellphones or have they changed to a new thing

It'll cost you $34.99 and most phones shouldn't have a problem with the sim2 cards.

They must have changed the terms recently or the guy in the shop don't know the products they sell. Still, you don't get those 49c calls anymore, you get stuck on the supa plan, where they now charge you 89c, which is a big price increase. I don't think they really care too much about prepay customers these days, as they will charge you $1 to make a call to their help desk even to report a problem, which they don't charge their other customers.

709924 2008-10-06 17:05:00 Yes I don't know who I hate the most Telecom or Vodaphone 1

Vodaphones web site is very unfriendly and as you say it is hard to get to grips with their plans. I think they do this on purpose.

Yes they got rid of motormouth and replaced it with super prepay and put the call rate UP to 89 cents a minute. Which is why people do not make phone calls on their mobiles, which is their main purpose.

709925 2008-10-06 18:06:00 I'm still on Motormouth, they sent me a text a while back asking whether I wanted to switch to Super Prepay and even had the nerve to say that it was cheaper! Nermal (7077)
