711864 2008-10-12 18:45:00 That is terrible !

They say that National had run down the public service too much in the 90's, but now Labour has built it up far too much.

If you have a quick look at the figures for the last year you can see how much Labour really cares about Econimc Development ! !

711865 2008-10-12 18:45:00 This is all part of the "bridging the gaps" policy, and "creating new jobs" - i.e. hire more people to shuffle paper around, and annoy doctors/nurses/surgeons/midwives who are doing the actual work. somebody (208)

711869 2008-10-12 19:11:00 I am self employed with 1 employee.
Last year my little business paid in direct taxation (not including GST payments) enough to support 3.3 people on the single person unemployment rate
I then see figures like this and then wonder what the hell I work 7 days a week for.
Even worse , with each increase of staffing levels, the managment team of these departments then increase their already inflated salaries as they have more staff to manage.
Talk about self feeding.
We are being screwed big time by this current government. I don't think it is just a Labour party thing, just the current heirarcy of the Labour party, who insist in trying to manipulate society into the way they think things should be.
I want a change of government not because National will be better but more to show the incumbents that the have to pay a price for not listening to what the community wants

Harry, Labour love's bureaucracy.......you must have noticed your business compliance charges growing steadily.

Dont forget all the ACC (INS) charges you had to pay also......Labour doesnt give a toss for small business, they keep adding red tape etc, without realising they are removing business profitability.

Hopefully National will redress the situation somewhat.....

So how do we make that a requisite of the job?? Sounds like a damn good idea to me!

But I still go back to Douglas Adams / Hitchhiker's Guide and paraphrase his (Zaphod's? Or his shrink's??) quote about the President of the Universe: "Anyone that actually WANTS the job, should be automatically disqualified from selection"...
