712327 2008-10-15 00:39:00 Perhaps we might start a petition or email Jan to see about getting it on an upcoming cover DVD Morgenmuffel (187)
712328 2008-10-15 00:44:00 does it have support for .docx etc?

I think so. According to what I read yesterday. Saves docx, and loads docx now

And something new for mac users, it now works on macs, and is an alternative to Office 08

Open Office 3.0's out-of-the-box functionality also enables users to immediately read documents saved in the .docx, .xlsx or .pptx formats.

712329 2008-10-15 00:51:00 Does it look sharp? Yeah, I know function over looks should win the day... but like climb out of the 90's and get a modern look, ow.

Glad to hear that OpenOffice now works natively on Macs.

712330 2008-10-15 01:06:00 Hmm, it looks like OO 3 can read, but cant write / save as docx Speedy Gonzales (78)
712331 2008-10-15 01:57:00 After testing I can confirm - it opens are reads .docx fine, can't save though, if it was to open and edit a .docx file it would have to save it as a .doc.

Looks great too (compared with the earlier versions) and it's faster.
