| 828895 | 2009-11-10 22:12:00 | I have upgraded to FF 3.5.5 but now when I close it the computor restarts. I have run AVG but part way through the scanning the computor shut down and restarted. The same happened when dfragging. Any suggestion? I am unable to remove FF as uninstall just brings up a blue DOS panel which dissappears very quickly | peterdb (10059) | ||
| 828896 | 2009-11-10 22:17:00 | Doesn't sound like it is a software issue. I would download Memtest and test the RAM and then test the hard drive for bad sectors. |

| 828904 | 2009-11-16 05:22:00 | I am unable to remove FF as uninstall just brings up a blue DOS panel which disappears very quickly This is a BSOD (blue screen of death), which can be informative as to the reason for crashing, you need to turn off Auto-restart (press Windows key and pause/break key, (then Advanced Properties in the LH menu then Advanced tab then Settings (under Startup & Recovery) in Vista)), the Advanced tab (in the System Properties window) then as above, in XP). Write down what the BSOD says, and post it here. Alternatively, check the Event Viewer (go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools) for any errors about the time of your crash. Also would do as Cyabro said, would definitely suspect ram and/or HDD in this. |
