| 714073 | 2008-10-23 01:31:00 | I see that the press is taking out of context and then misreporting comments made by Lockwood Smith re agricultural workers. Asians having small hands and of some Pacific islanders having to be taught how to use washing machines, microwave ovens and sometimes flush toilets. The cacophony of mock shock and horror that such comments are” racist ” is laughable. The press is frantically trying to make out that the nation is hanging our heads in shame for such a slur. Comrade Helen lisping and slurring her way to pour scorn and outrage to a simpering and slavish press corp. The rest of the population is going “What”?? I have recollections of a recent “Country Calendar” program showing the induction courses being run in Fiji by Fijians, to educate the villages in these skills before coming to NZ to work. Asians generally have smaller hands than Europeans, not racist. Women are generally more dexterous than men, not sexist. Catholics eat more pork than Jews, not anti-Semitic. Let’s all celebrate and help each other to understand the differences and don’t take false offence to things that are in no way offencive except to the weirdo and self serving politically correct brigade. | 714075 | 2008-10-23 02:26:00 | I think I know what he was on about.... Went into a Kiwifruit Packing House recently and saw signs on the walls telling the staff how to use the toilets as opposed to the floor..... Dunno what race they were but it's probably a known problem in the industry. |

Blessing the Medals when they go back to Waioru - As if that is going to help them not get stolen again, better Security System might though. Giving New Imigrants a History Information Pack when they come to NZ - Yea Right, some of them need to learn to read English first, and who really cares about the History, be a Kiwi and get on with life in the here and now. Some of the PC rubbish that goes on at my Daughter's School and past schools she has been to is just as bad. It is time the Treaty died along with the people that originally signed it and we all work together as New Zealanders. A lot of Aussie blokes would agree with roddy_boy, I think they just might be a little more sexist than the Kiwi Bloke. |
