Legendary Four Tops star Levi Stubbs, pictured above right, has died it's just been announced.

The 72-year-old Motown veteran passed away at his Detroit home this morning.

Stubbs had suffered from ill-heath for several years including bouts of cancer and a stroke which forced him to stop touring in 2000.

He was the lead singer for The Four Tops who have dozens of hits including classics Reach Out I'll Be There, I Can't Help Myself and It's The Same Old Song. their name, including Baby I need your loving, I can't help myself, It's the same old song and Reach out I'll be there.

He leaves his wife Clineice, his wife of 48 years, and their five children.
