829928 2009-11-14 01:40:00 Hey I have a PC here, but the screen is not picking the input signal up. We have taken the cover off and the video card fan is not spinning-the main one is though. It was working earlier today but not now. Why does it not pick up? The screen works on other computers.

The screen is a HP1740 and the computer is just a pbtech one with a "WinFast GeForce2 Pro" If that helps

Thanks
Thomas

829929 2009-11-14 02:23:00 Well I would either replace the vidcard fan or replace the card for something else. Its got a fan for a reason Speedy Gonzales (78)
829930 2009-11-14 03:32:00 But what does the fan have to do with the screen, not picking the signal up??? spector8 (15424)
829931 2009-11-14 03:42:00 If the fan on the card isn't going it probably overheating and therefore not functioning causing no output to the screen. stormdragon (6013)

IT caused the card to overheat thus frying the GPU. So it's now dead and the screen can't find a video device to receive the signal from.
