713180 2008-10-20 05:14:00 Joe, regarding your comment about the red soil around the Grand Canyon area. The ground colour there is red, but what I saw is not as vividly rusty red as what I noticed around Ayers Rock, more an orange-red shade. When you look at the stratum around the canyon, the colours do vary, some being a vivid red. A wonderful spectacle.

You are so right, anyone going there, don't wear white sneakers and don't sit directly on the ground if you are wearing white trousers or shorts. :waughh:

713181 2008-10-20 07:03:00 In a million years you could never guess what happened to me this afternoon.

After work I decided to go to McDonalds to eat some burgers etc. As I was ordering I noticed that the young woman that was serving me had the surname Chamberlain on her name tag.

Thinking to myself, 'how weird I just typed that name the other day', so I said to her did she know that her surname was well known, she looked quizzically at me so I said 'yes are you related to Lindy Chamberlain', she said, 'I am her husband's cousin'.

You could have knocked me over with a feather. I checked, she seemed to know the whole story.

713182 2008-10-20 14:25:00 Only in NZ...ya got blue-bloods flippin' burgers!

Strange though that youse guys put their surnames (US= last names) on ID tags...in the US most people make up a nickname and would NEVER put their family name in print for some weird-o to see and possibly harass.
