712698 2008-10-19 05:06:00 Goodie...I hoped so and it wasn't zone-sensitive.

How'd ya like the prices? and the guitar brands?

712699 2008-10-19 08:00:00 Friends of mine were just in the states were very close to buying one over there, but with the NZD being so low, it wasn't worth it. After the hassle, you'd be better off buying a nice 2nd hand one in NZ, real shame, in February when the NZD was 80c on the USD, it would have been great.

Love the site though, am having a browse around now, so much variety.

I drop by their store near Loma Linda . . close to the VA Hospital when I go for treatments .

There's almost always some really great, albeit SECRET guitar player there trying out a 1957 Strat or a Les Paul on weekdays .

I saw Annie Lennox there once after she had cut the Dracula sound track . . . no, I didn't see the movie! . . . but she can blow a very mean harp!

They have several rooms set aside for instrument groups . . . drums, keyboards, bass, 6-string, acoustic, and a general "jam" area in the center . They seem to encourage minor players and small garage bands to try the stuff in a group setting . . . and it makes good PR too .

Next time I go, I'll try to get some pixs for youse guys . Ya oughta see just the string or pick selections!

I bought my Fender P-Bass and a small 200-watt, 1X10 4ohm tube-type Peavey 4-channel w/2-clean-2-reverb (used) amp there about 8 years ago . I put a short stack with 4X10 4ohm bass speakers next to it as I think 10's comply better with the bass and 15's won't move well enough .

Also bought two GTX axes that have some really nice humbuckers and a serious "surf" sound that I love to use for what I consider "my" music . Nice whammys too and one has a top-lock and adjustable tuner lower bridge .

I bought a full-stack of 2) 4X15 with the CRATE GFX1200H head . Got a Dunlop Cry-Baby Wah and a few stomp boxes with choruser, dirty metal and a few bass stomps too .

The head has flanger, choruser, delay, loop, tremelo and reverb . . . but I want a good transduced coil-echo next . I have that in another CRATE P-Amp that I sometimes stack into the group for extra FX .

All-in-all, having a wall of over 2000 tube-watts is kinda fun for me . . . and a real treat for the neighborhood .

I love SRV, ZZ, Jimi, Prince, Bugs Henderson, and a few others . . but Vai is king . My fav type of music is ROAD HOUSE, SURF and EARLY ACID . Of course, Stones and Beatles are very high with the Zombies, Grateful Dead and The Kinks . :wub

712701 2008-10-19 17:08:00 I prefer Satriani over Vai but then again Brian May and Gary Moore really turn the heat on as well and then there's always Richie Blackmore gary67 (56)

712705 2008-10-21 02:42:00 Is that accompanied with a single or double malt? SurferJoe46 (51)
712706 2008-10-21 02:45:00 If they let you in the shop with your camera, double. Otherwise single. ;) wratterus (105)
