All commentators I have read say the 2010 version is good i.e. it is effective and has removed the system killing 'features' of earlier versions. |

| 829926 | 2009-11-15 02:02:00 | I was having a bit of a clean up in My Documents folder earlier today. A few times when right clicking and selecting "Cut" to move a file (word/pdf/jpeg) things would hang and then go back to the desktop with the message that Windows Explorer had experienced an error and had to close--send error report to MS. Only trying to cut/paste simple files, not had this problem before. Everything else working normally. Not changed/added anything recently. |

You can uninstall the software, or just disable the context menu extension for it like this: - Get AutoRuns ( . microsoft . com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902 . aspx" target="_blank">technet . microsoft . com) from SysInternals (do a web search) . - Run it, then choose Options/Hide Windows Entries . - Click the Refresh icon to make that setting take effect . - Click on the Explorer tab . - Scroll down until you see a category that ends in ContextMenuHandlers . There might be more than one category with that name . - Look in the Publisher and Description columns there to find anything that might be the culprit, and uncheck it . - Restart Windows . Once you've done this, check and see if you're still getting the problem . It worked for me . It's also great for removing annoying clutter from the context menu . :) |
