| 829670 | 2009-12-11 10:49:00 | Thanks for this thread, everyone - my FireFox has been running like treacle for a couple of days, and hogging system resource. Updating to the latest version didn't help, and I had run CCleaner and done a virus/spyware scan, uninstalled mywebsearch (not sure how it got installed in the first place), but no luck. So I did the easy bits from this thread - cleared the windows update cache, disabled Microsoft .NET Framework, and ran speedy fox. One of those three things did the trick - nice snappy response has been restored. Thanks to you all! |
