2008-10-17 04:34:00 | Hey Guys, I've been having frequent problems with my router - It is a Belkin Wireless G Router ( F5D7230-4) . Roughly about 5-20 minutes my internet connection just drops? I am using a Modem to Router setup and my brother and I share the internet connection . We both seem to be losing our connection - he is using the wireless connection while I am plugged directly into my Network Card . I have checked the routers configuration page whilst I have been disconnected (192 . 168 . 2 . 1) and it says Not Connected in red . I have tried setting my Network options to a Static Ip that doesn't Clash with the router but still doesn't help :( And lastly, here are my router settings: Version Info Firmware Version F5D7230-4_AU_8 . 01 . 22 Boot Version v1 . 01 Hardware F5D7230-4 6000 Serial No . Remove all filters phones etc on the line and connect the modem direct into the phone jack without a filter and if it solves the problem connect filters back one at a time to isolate the faulty one. If you still have a problem call your ISP so they can get Telecom to investigate.

2008-10-17 05:05:00 | Well, now that you mention it I only have 1 ADSL Filter connected to my phone... =/ Is it a must to have them all connected with ADSL filters? Cheers!

2008-10-17 05:26:00 | Everything on the phone line has to be connected through a filter. This includes all phones, faxes, and any phone line connected to the sky decoder.

2008-10-19 17:50:00 | It can also be the router that's cr*p, and you will have the disconnects forever - see previous posts from me in this regard. Good luck sarel

2008-10-19 18:05:00 | Well, everything except the router. ;) Although it is not necessary to have the router connected through a filter it is normal to do so as a phone can then be used from that position as well by connecting it into the filter the router is using.

2008-10-19 18:49:00 | We've got a Belkin Wireless G adsl router here and it's a dire piece of crap. My desktop is connected by cat6 cable to it - but with wireless it keeps dropping the connection every so often for no apparent reason. Maybe Belkin is the Nortons of the wireless router world...

2008-10-19 19:50:00 | What if you use a multifunction printer which is also a fax?? And its got a line in connection (from the phonejack to the printer), and ex connection (for a phone to plug into) Would you still need a filter?? Like this Jack -------------> Line in (on printer) Ex (from printer) -----------> phone The router here (its log) shows its going in and out of sync and reconnecting too. But thats probably Xnet screwing things up (I'm not using wireless tho)
