2009-11-18 00:05:00 | Just wondering how affected users are from the traffic management. Is normal web browsing affected during peak times eg. Trademe and Facebook? Are youtube videos affected? is it still possible to stream videos or do you need to let them load? Is online gaming affected? could i play call of duty online during peak times?

Youtube is really good still. Web browsing is only really affected here when I am downloading alot at once. I haven't tried online gaming but I'm sure others have. |

2009-11-18 00:13:00 | cached youtube videos load about 50% instantly and the rest loads as normal Uncached videos don't load fast enough to watch while it streams. web browsing is fine. I haven't tried gaming.

2009-11-18 00:36:00 | User experiences seems to vary significantly . Its no good for gaming, not overly flash for streaming esp during peak times, and great for downloading . Its a leeching pool, so the quality of service is reduced, if you can accept that then it may be worth a try . Many people jump on it not realising what it is, then start complaining about the performance . .

2009-11-18 00:54:00 | Everything is pretty good, but with overall bittorrent speed improved over Go Large (but that's probably just because of the faster upload speed) | Agent_24 (57) | |
2009-11-18 07:57:00 | so is online gaming a no go with the bigtime plan | viperviperviper006 (15202) | |
2009-11-18 09:21:00 | So far since switching I have only played Battlefield 1942 and Trackmania United online but I didn't have any problems, noticed no difference between Go Large anyway... But I don't do much online gaming, mostly LAN, if that, so my experience might not be a good comparison

2009-11-18 09:53:00 | I'm a huge online gamer, recently bought MW2 and pwning with that. Only trouble I'm having is fixing the NAT in my router to make it easier to connect... However, beyond what people say, and what they say about Peak-Times, I've had no trouble yet. BUT mind you, this time I've got interleaving turned OFF, so I get around 150 less ping.. which means I can play on NZ/AuS servers at 30 - 80 ping which use to be 150 -300 when I didn't have interleaving off. If you get Big Time for gaming, TURN INTERLEAVING OFF! The only consequence to it, is some pages that stream, like YouTube may become corrupt and not load, simply refresh. Some downloads can become corrupt or not start.. I've had only one not start. Simply try again, and it fixes it. Big Time is not recommended for gamers, but with Interleaving off, it's sweet as sugar.

2009-11-18 09:54:00 | I'm on Big Time and I play COD4 online quite regularly, ping on aus/nz servers is usually <80ms, so I think it's reasonably adequate for online gaming. | Netsukeninja (13296) | |
