Hey, I remember a kid grew fancy lettuce for a science experiment. Afterwards he made money selling off the lettuce to restaurants.

Was that kid's name Bob?

No, it was on the news a few years back. They were hydroponic lettuces. I think he ended up making a business selling them.

Surely someone must remember it.

715506 2008-10-29 00:41:00 It's not uncanny.
However, What happened to all the plants that they used to grow for the half- pound tins? Were they put out to pasture?

Thanks for your punny answer. The best reply, followed closely by:

Perhaps they're grown IN the tin....

That never occurred to me. So it is, as Sam m has said, genetic engineering. That now poses a new problem. If they are grown in the tin, does that mean that they are grown with tin opener attached? Otherwise, how does one open the tin?

715507 2008-10-29 01:09:00 Sigh, I remember when my parents could just go to the local market and grab a fresh pineapple for less than a dollar. qazwsxokmijn (102)
715508 2008-10-29 01:17:00 The opener must not be attached or even left unattended lest the pineapple escapes. Even metric pineapples are a bit Houdini-ish if left in the dark unobserved.
Check in your recycling bin for mass escape evidence.
