715192 2008-10-29 12:51:00 I dont see why not. Its a good leap to allow people to work with others on the same application and of course allowing for more fingers to be used leads to a richer and more varied experience for the user.

Why I would not use it:

1. "Hay,what are you doing?"

2. "I haven't finished yet".

3. "Your putting thinger marks all over my nice clean new big lcd screen you twit".

4. "Your in the way,I can't see".

5. "My finger/arm is tired".

6. "Hay,you just picked your nose/arse and now your touching my lcd screen, yuck"!!!

7. Hay,does this must use/important/favourite programe work with touch control"?

8. "Damn,I keep pressing the screen and I get no response, Please help PressF1"!!!

9. I/friend/family member pressed to hard on the screen and now I have dead pixles noooooo!!!!(Does my warrenty cover this,NO IT DOES NOT)!!!

10. "Hay PressF1,Whats the best way to touch your lcd.....why lovingly of course"!!!

715193 2008-11-01 06:59:00 Initially I thought "multi-touch" meant the smurfs had got onto the treasury benches.

However, since it is MicroSoft, it probably means they are going to charge for updates and sevice packs. :(

715194 2008-11-01 10:13:00 Multi touch usually refers to trackpads on notebooks rather than touchscreens.

The newer Macs have it. You can zoom in by doing a pinching movement, and zoom out be the opposite (or vice versa... not too sure). There are a number of other cool things you can do too.

May be MS surface-like stuff though. That's what I thought multi touch was though.

If you had watched the video you could have made an informed comment instead.

How sweeeet would that have been?

Meh. Who needs to be informed. I'm taking the average NZ voters stance on this one.

715197 2008-11-01 18:14:00 Two finger scrolling would be one of the most useful options on my 2006 iBook's track pad. Two finger clicking for right click would be next.
The new MacBooks have a glass touch track pad which is great to use.

715198 2008-11-01 18:38:00 Sorry, but Macs are still untouchable for me ;) R2x1 (4628)
715199 2008-11-02 01:42:00 I can just picture Windows 7 and Touch Screens becoming the norm only to be destroyed by kids with dirty sticky fingers leaving their mess all over screens all over the world.

Damn I think I have a few pixels die, oh no just Johnny's sticky fingers again:-)
