831209 2009-11-18 18:08:00 As mentioned, YouTube video *is* slower, and they've also come clean in the last week and admitted they "accidentally" got TVNZOnDemand slowed down too, though Telecom is working on a resolution for that currently.

SSL / VPN traffic is slowed, however that said I've started a gaming service based on using PPTP and it works marvelously. In fact when I game with mates they *only* want me to host due to my connection being the most reliable, though my QoS does have an affect on that. I've even been gaming during peak times on Battle.net as well as Borderlands, again no issues at all. Pings against NZ players pretty much always <100ms, many times it's less, but that's mostly because their connections aren't as good.

Web browsing to Facebook / Trademe / PressF1 / International sites / local sites is all good. They do seem to throttle the per-connection speed from what I can see on certain popular download sites, yet other sites remain untouched.

Long story short: Provided you're aware that streaming video isn't quite 100% (Even though I'm working with them to resolve it ASAP), then you should be fine :)
