| 715492 | 2008-10-28 19:57:00 | Pineapple is one of my favourite fruits. Unfortunately, we can’t grow pineapple in NZ, so we need to import the fruit and that usually means that it is tinned. So I occasionally treat myself and buy a 425g tin of pineapple. I have noticed that the pineapple rings fit almost exactly inside the tin, which made me realise that the horticulturists who grow the pineapples are very clever people. It seems that they are able to propagate and grow pineapple to the size of a 425g tin. The question is: how do they do it?:confused: |

| 715498 | 2008-10-28 21:02:00 | Simple - they feed the pineapples through a slicer/cutter machine which trims the pineapple down to the same size as the can, then the offcuts go to juice or that mushy pineapple you can buy. Edit - beat me Bob. :p |
