| 717184 | 2008-11-04 05:04:00 | I have an area on the south side of my house that only receives sun at sunrise and sunset. Weeds grow profusely but little else. Any suggestions as to a good (and proven) groundcover will be gratefully received. I want a groundcover that likes shade, covers fairly rapidly and requires almost no care. Of course the garden centres should know, but that does not seem to be the case. I have bought a few that do not do the job. |

| 717186 | 2008-11-04 05:37:00 | Am not sure which area you live in, I know you specifically mentioned ground cover, but on the south side I have a lot of impatiens growing. I never planted them, they escaped from the neighbours!! The grow like weeds and do produce an abundance of colour, continuing to self seed. I just cull them from time to time. Tauranga is an area where you drop an apple core and next day an apple tree is growing. (I lied about that bit, it just seems like that). You could also lay down some weed matting and cover it with a variety of medium sized stones. They won't die. Cheers, Marnie |
