| 716741 | 2008-11-02 23:09:00 | Please pardon my ignorance, but this is a scam I hadn't heard of before today. A friend was astonished to get a txt message from Vodafone saying that he had insufficient credit on his VF mobile to receive a chargeable text message. Given that VF charge to call their laughingly named help line these days, he would like to find out ways to block such services without calling Vodafone anymore than is absolutely neccesary. He does not recall joining any such service, and does not really want to find out how much the call costs by loading up his credit. Does anybody know how to block these cretins ? Usually it seems to involve paying to receive the swill and then paying more to tell them to stop. That process seems like paying to give the swine a confirmed number to onsell among their group of vultures. |

| 716746 | 2008-11-04 07:16:00 | A sniff of victory - my friend managed to get through to an english speaking Vodafoneite and the neccesary stopping is taking place. (He also got through a few $$ to find the magic person at $1 a call). Alas, he had to get a couple more spam messages at $3.50 each to get the numbers to block. Apparently it was his sister that got his number to the forces of darkness. Now we learn about feuding. |

| 716747 | 2008-11-04 07:25:00 | Yeah see thats crap. As long as someone knows your phone number you can be signed up to pay another company money for a service you didn't ask for! Surely that is illegal. |

| 716748 | 2008-11-04 08:51:00 | It could well be that as long as the phone company gets half the fee for the call the practise will not be stomped on very hard. I am sure the pathetic morally bankrupt spammers will have some high priced legal advice to keep them marginally inside the law. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
