716093 2008-10-30 20:32:00 Is there any simple way of keeping cats away from my vege garden?

Stopping them from digging?

Any help would be appreciated.

716094 2008-10-30 20:40:00 Get a dog. Just don't use blood and bone on the garden or they will make more mess than a cat!! (my experience)

Or, get a cat cage trap and when you catch one, put it on the lawn with the sprinkler going for an hour. It won't come back after that.

Or, the old tried and true shotgun trick. Trouble is, a blast from one, shreds the lettuce something terrible.

PS I think garden centres sell cat repellent.

716096 2008-10-30 20:42:00 You can buy animal repellant from the pet section of your super market. A small amount of Jeyes fluid mixed with water and sprayed on the area evey couple of days for about a week until the cats learn not to go there.

716097 2008-10-30 20:54:00 Many years ago in Mosgiel a lot of cats around the town were going missing . Gardeners rejoiced, Cat owners wondered, Police were baffled .

Rumors of a local Fish and Chip shop serving up cat came to light and after inspection the shop was closed down .

True Story, John H can probably remember that .

716098 2008-10-30 21:54:00 Know what you mean. Cats are a menace.

I have put small rocks and pieces of broken concrete in the garden to stop them rolling in the dirt - they destroy everything in their rampage - they don't seem to like pointy rocks under their feet.

My daughter has bird netting over her lettuces which does the trick.

There speaks a man of experience. What a silly bloody thing to do! I bet SWMBO went mad, Ken.:illogical

This might be the easiest solution ...
