716847 2008-11-05 07:44:00 My word. What keen insight. R2x1 (4628)
716848 2008-11-05 07:48:00 Labour has had its chance, more then enough years to actually do any good. And they failed miserably. Now they have resorted to propaganda(sp?) of sorts to make the nats look more corrupt then themselves. Quite a hard task. And the adverts are downright crap, by attacking JK personally they are making themselves look like idiots. rob_on_guitar (4196)
716849 2008-11-05 07:58:00 KIWI RAIL bought by Labour from Toll Holdings 3 months ago. Now valued DOWN $242 million. $56 loss for every New Zealander. Gosh, Clark and her failed ex school teacher Finance Minister Cullen sure know how to run a business. royaloaks (8205)
716850 2008-11-05 08:02:00 No, that is not what I said but since you opened this particular topic, NZ is a new country that has been absolutely rooted up the a..e by america and has taken it all with a smile on it's face and is asking for more.

All of our vital government services have been privatized and sold on to american business interests over the last 25 years, and people still haven't realized what has happened, and that is the smallest part of the piracy.

As proof I offer the observation that prices of electricity and other vital services just keep on rising but nothing has actually changed except that the shareholders are getting more and more greedy.

Excellent, Good to see you can put it all together when you want to.

Personally I'd regulate the power industry, I can see no reason for obscene profits for services that we all need.

716851 2008-11-05 08:08:00 Kiwi Rail has been asset stripped according to the take over formula of american corporate raiders of the 80's, you need to read more about what happened in the past re Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble and the invasion of the Labour Party by right wing zeolots.

We bought back the worn out husk of our previously vibrant railway services, we had no option.

Following the right wing agenda of privatization of government services has been an unmitigated disaster from which we will never fully recover.

Notice I am not mentioning the hospital services which are a joke these days since they have been 'improved and made more efficient'.

716852 2008-11-05 08:21:00 ah, so you have no idea about our railway before it was sold then....

They should never have bought it back for the price they paid, Shocking waste of money. Better off to have let it fall over.

716853 2008-11-05 08:28:00 Furthermore, roger douglas and richard prebble regard themselves as visionaries but actually they were mere pawns in the big game of far greater intelligences than them and were used to inject ideas which would allow above corporate raiders to exploit NZ, in my opinion they should be viewed as traitors and treated as such.

Men who are in fact very much like john key, successful in their own small field and now wanting fame, very dangerous people, stupid and easily used because they are greedy, to me this is self evident.

We don't want people like this in positions of power, when will we learn the lesson:

'there is no political solution to our troubled evolution'.

john key said he didn't believe in god, so what does he believe in?

Personal aggrandizement would be my guess, after all he already has enough money for any one man doesn't he?

716855 2008-11-05 08:51:00 We bought back the worn out husk of our previously vibrant railway services, we had no option.I find this interesting. On the one hand you think that privatization allows greedy capitalists to plunder the nation of its assets, but on the other hand you think that it is ok for the government to pay more than the market value to get these assets back, essentially rewarding the very owners you say have under invested?

I'm not saying that we should privatize everything (personally I don't think that we should privatize anything that you can only have one of) but what you are saying appears to be inconsistent. They had a choice, the alternative being not to buy.

716856 2008-11-05 09:18:00 Careful selective scanning of the historic record indicates that in a single year under National, I had five punctures. I haven't had a single one under Labour.
National with all their leaks must never be allowed into power. ;)
