None of this: Increase time in jail - which we end up paying for with our taxes. What I propose is a series of metal cages, and the only food/water/sanitation/anything that these animals get has to be provided by family and friends. If an animal ends up in there charged with murder and no one brings him food and he starves to death - oh well, the world is a better place without him. Sure it would cost a little bit to setup initially, but it would end up saving in the long run. And while we are at it, bring back the death penalty. None of these electric chairs or anything 'fancy'. Just out the back of prison, shotgun to the head. Pretty simple really. Cost of a single shotgun shell: $0.50. Job done. |

| 717743 | 2008-11-05 17:43:00 | Judges like her are the problem. I feel sorry for the police, they catch these scum bags then the judges let them off with light sentences, there is NO deterrent. In Tauranga recently we had a judge say in effect " I am sick of domestic violence, the next person that comes before me will get jail". Then on that day they sentenced 3 domestic violence offenders to community service ! We had two boys who shot and killed and burned a pidgeon let off by the judge with a warning. The next day some low life mutilated and killed a cat and hung it up on a nail. |

So there are three tiers of appeal available to BOTH PARTIES in this case . If Her Honour's judgments are so far off the mark then superior courts will put those judgments ASIDE . . . Sorry, did I shout that? Doing the job properly the first time is the way to go . |

Obviously not in a bad way like Hitler/Stalin but an extreme change for the good . A restructuring of the core systems like: Education Health Systems Benefits Crime Punishments The standards need to be raised again . Grades for schools should be set, none of this bull**** of class averages etc . Punishments for crime should be near-deadly . All the needless red-tape involved with benefits and health systems should be removed . Benefits should have a time limit, i . e . - you gotta get a job within 8 weeks or no more benefit . I could go on but I have a rather long assignment due shortly . . . |
