| 717643 | 2008-11-05 06:17:00 | And let's hope that 28 years of the rot setting in that started with Reagan in 1980 is finally over and we can get back to core socialist values at last, to develop the world and away from the mad capitalist vision of endless growth and resource exploitation without counting the costs. | zqwerty (97) | ||
| 717644 | 2008-11-05 06:52:00 | Funny. America will continue to look after its own interests (as perceived by America), as it has always done, How the flow on effects us has nothing to do with who is in office. |

Lets hope Obama can undo all the damage that has been caused. It will take a while though I think. | royaloaks (8205) | ||

John and Helen have marginally different agendas, and while we'll all be pleased to see the back of her, if she happens to win, things will not be too different to what they will be if John wins. On the other hand, what happens in the US affects the whole world (including us) and the difference between McCain and Obama was vast. |

| 717647 | 2008-11-05 07:14:00 | I just think the machine is so big, with so many agendas and compromises, That the decisions, actions and effect has little to do with whatever big words and ideas were put forward by the small man at the top in order to win the popularity contest. America is still the worlds largest economy, and a huge influence on the world economy, and no matter whose elected they will be doing there best to get her back in balance. Likewise America will still spend trillions on defence and keep their fingers in every pie they can, welcome or not. So, In the end, Things will improve or they won't......But either party could have come into power and then made a decision that benefits them and cripples us. |
