As mentioned before it is probably all the sulphur fumes in the roadside cabinets and with a little moisture turns it into sulphuric acid, need I say anymore. :) |

| 832649 | 2009-11-23 06:20:00 | A friend had a similar problem a couple of years back with a connection to xtra, it turned out that her ADSL modem was connected to the phone system through a 12 metre flexible telephone extension cord. As soon as we installed fixed wiring and an extra BT socket the problem went away. Those flexible extension cords are fine for audio frequencies but attenuate high frequency broadband signals to the point of failure. If you get enough transmission errors, the modem shuts down and has to reconnect. Just a thought. |

| 832651 | 2009-11-23 08:33:00 | maybe you should see other people :p:lol: | GameJunkie (72) | ||
| 832652 | 2009-11-23 09:38:00 | Their super modems are crap too ... All the ones the ISP's give away are relatively cheap, though for basic home use they generally suffice. If you're having issues, see if you can lay your hands on a NetComm NB6Plus4WN :) Seriously I've just replaced two of the HomeHub / BizHub modems today ... ;) |
