| 832403 | 2009-11-22 20:40:00 | Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new rig in the new year... I will be going overseas to BKK, KL and SIN. Does anyone have any ideas about where the good shopping spots are in KL or SIN? I'm looking for the following: *** Intel i7 based system *** preferrably an Asus motherboard but partial to a Gigabyte product *** 4GB of RAM *** 500GB SATA disk ( would be buy more than one if the price is right) *** ATi HD5770 series graphics card (though this might change seen as ATi may release their new GPU's next year) *** X-Fi sound card - capable of at least 24bit @ 96KHz *** 600W PSU *** Thermaltake Case *** Windows 7 x64 Professional Thanks in advance. My thoughts are, if you are only there for a short holiday, get a few parts, DONT buy a complete system...I would look for parts that have big tags or products that have a bigger market than here, therefore give a better deal....CPU, GPU, SSD and NAS Products...maybe large LCD (26+) |

I got SAP r/3 there once (just to see if it would work, it kinda did, deleted now). Of course I am not recommending you buy pirate software that would be illegal and naughty. This from someone who has bought ms office legally 3 times!!! (Bloody idiot). |

Nah BKK is out... as our trip starts there and we'll be doing some jungle trekking before evenutally heading to Singapore over the next 14 days. I will be wanting to travel light so we're leaving the shopping until we reach KL and SIN. Thanks for all the advice guys. Looks like I will be heading to simlim square. Thanks, |

Navigating your way around Singapore is easy. Just be ready for the hot and humid climate, otherwise it is such a nice place! It is also worthwhile to pay Funan Centre (www.funan.com.sg) a visit. It is only about 5 minutes walk from where I worked - High Street Centre (sg.pagenation.com) Have a great time. |
