717590 2008-11-05 03:11:00 Hi all, just stopped the movie channels and they asked if I would like HD box for $49 setup and $15 extra p/mth on top of premium.....the wife was here so had to say we will get back to them, however does that all mean they have dropped the $600 purchase cost for the new my sky box?

Also, if anyone esle here has HD, is it only the movies channels and sport 1 & 2?..what about history channel, discovery etc and also the std one, 2 3 etc....if they are HD is freeview, why not sky?

I need some ammo here guys......i doubt i will be able to put a success proposition to the wife with only 2 sports channels......:(

717592 2008-11-05 03:31:00 It's not certain channels, but the content of those channels thats in HD. I expect any channels that aren't broadcasting in widescreen won't broadcast in HD, so that rules out the music channels and Discovery.

However sport channels, most movies and 1,2,3, Prime and C4 should broadcast any HD contect in it's proper format.

I think. :p

My fave is watching the WRC highlights in HD with surround on, sounds and looks absolutley stunning.

717594 2008-11-06 08:20:00 we got mysky put on a few weeks back and dont have movies or sport. thet charge an extra $10 a month to recieve the channels in HD anyway, why bother I said! the Mysky unit itself is worth its weight in gold, live pause is brilliant, series link and the ability to record 2 channels while watching a thrid is awesome. Worth every cent of the $15 per month I say miknz (3731)
