| 1445786 | 2018-02-01 05:20:00 | Anyone else having problems with the Microsoft MSN News App on Win 10 today? Noticed the live tile wasn't working on my start menu this morning (which happens sometimes but it usually rights itself), and when I opened the app it wouldn't load anything, except for "An error occurred, try refreshing", and clicking on the link to refresh did nothing. The same error is on the other fields like interests, sources, videos etc too. Basically the only thing I can get into is the settings. I tried rebooting, resetting the app, and then uninstalling & reinstalling. Twice. No joy. After some googling on the subject I tried changing the preferred edition in the options section of the app to United States English, restarting the app and voila, it loads news. However it's all US news and US sources. Changing it back to New Zealand English stops content loading again with the same error. I also tried changing it to Australia and United Kingdom English editions and they don't seem to work either. All my other apps seem to be working OK, just the news. Am on Win 10 x64 1709.16299.214 however I think the problem began before Windows Update started (or at least finished) installing 4058258. |
