1445320 2018-01-24 01:34:00 Hi PF1er's,

I need to "translate" some configuration lines from a 3Com 4500 PWR switch for use on an Aruba 2930F switch.

What I know thusfar;

The lines in question have to do with QoS for VoIP. The entries from the 3Com switch (from what I've researched) have to do with telling the switch that devices with MAC addresses which fall within the given range should be "tagged" as VoIP phones. Then there are a few lines which have to do with what I think is a prioritization of VoIP traffic over normal "data"/non-VoIP traffic.

Really can't explain it any better, I have been googling for over a week and have posted numerous times on Aruba and other network forums but have received help around everything else in the config except for these particular portions.

There are 2 VLAN's; one for data (the default VLAN) and one for Voice;

Default VLAN = 10.1.0.x
Voice VLAN = 10.1.1.x

This particular Aruba switch will be replacing the current 3Com unit as the "core switch". Thus far, tests have been successful in terms of network access is working as expected as well as VoIP... I just don't know if I need to do anything to ensure that the VoIP traffic is actually being prioritized.

These are the lines in the config I have not been able to figure out as yet;

acl number 4999
rule 0 deny dest 0000-0000-0000 ffff-ffff-ffff

The Aruba command for the above is either access-list or access-group but I have not been able to figure out how to actually use it and what the correct parameters/syntax would be.

The next line is;
packet-filter inbound link-group 4999 rule 0

This line occurs under the config for each individual port in use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
