2018-02-19 08:35:00 | Dress well? Meaning? Snobbery that jeans are not dressing well? As for the Warehouse I have found plenty of jumpers, not hoodies, and real wool dress ones too. Anyway fashion is uniformity dressed up. Suits, how the hell did one set of clothes become a requirement for men....not even practical. Not snobbery - non conformist. I don't like to follow fashions, and wear brands. I last wore denim jeans in 1976. I have twenty pairs of black dress trousers - all identical. Wear them when working on cars, mowing lawns, and going out. Jumpers? I mean slim dress pattern jerseys/pullovers - like on Aliexpress. No one - I have checked over 20 stores sell them. Owners won''t stock them - I was told people are too fat/large out these ways. It's appalling what - especially large people wear around south Auckland. Baggy track pants and oversize rough hoodies/jackets and dirty jandals.. Though Indian folk dress nice...

2018-02-22 12:09:00 | [QUOTE=1101;1273309]Why wear a suit or even a tie. Ever . Surely one of the worst choices in clothing . The Tyranny of the necktie An accessory that serves no useful purpose whatsoever, apart from perhaps covering up the fact that one has a button missing on the front of ones shirt. Yet lack of this useless and uncomfortable accessory round one's neck is construed as a lack of respect, rebellion against acceptable dress standards, that warrants exclusion from restaurants and other places of social gathering. The necktie is something that should have been long discarded in the trashcan of useless items, but it's use is maintained ensuring men are uncomfortable in hot weather. Until men ditch the necktie, they have no right to deride any ridiculous female fashion trend.

2018-02-22 12:18:00 | [QUOTE=1101;s , just wear pyjamas all day. Hugh Heffner adopted this dress style, it didn't do him any harm, and it had him almost ready for his favourite past time. I quite like the message it gave.

2018-02-22 17:13:00 | Been to a funeral where an elderly gentleman looked very smart in Suit and Tie but carried a Water Bottle, and been to a Wedding where the Father of the Bride walked the Bride up the Isle also carrying a Water Bottle. Beats me how the hell our forefathers ever survived without a plastic water bottle on hand?

2018-02-23 00:09:00 | Our forfathers werent being cooked to death by global warming. :) :tui: The next door neighbour has just got back from a skiing holiday in Jackson, Wyoming, USA and reckons he’s never been so cold, with -2C being as hot as it got. Given that Jackson is only 43 Degrees North of the equator and Christchurch 43 Degrees South, the good people of Christchurch should be praying for some Global Warming this winter. :D

2018-02-23 00:14:00 | And we've just had the hottest summer on record, what's that got to do with the stupid things people wear ? But my one and only comment I'm going to make on climate this thread - you can't compare continental weather with ours which is oceanic, large land masses create their own weather patterns.

Thats been most of the process far : compare some arbitrary time period to another. Ignore past time periods that dont fit . About as silly as comparing locations . Who are we, (only been here a blimp in time), to say what the 'normal' earth temps should be . It used to be much hotter & much colder . One good comet strike or another Krakatoa & we're back into year long winters . As happened many times in the past . Now , back to hats :) and solving global energy issues 8707 |
