Must terminal only. meh, I think it's a choice, some are great tools, some are not, but dismissing the lot, nah....it's what will increase market share of it. One of the reasons Linux isn't my main OS is the need for terminal knowledge, that and my CAD software isn't compatible |

I use Bricscad in Linux Mint. It is better than Autocad (faster, includes LISP programming and is MUCH cheaper), and has versions for Linux and Mac as well as Windows. I haven't found any DWG files that it hasn't been able to read. Another possible alternative is Draftsight with Linux and Windows versions, which also has a free version, but it is not quite as sophisticated as Bricscad. I refuse to use Autocad which is vastly overpriced and you are forced into annual licensing of the software. |

| 1445477 | 2018-02-01 22:15:00 | Yep, rotating the screen is a good trick, had many a call asking how to fix that. There's a better on for April Fools -- Actually several. :devil:devil SWMBO played one prank on a lady at work, LOL the poor lady though she was going nuts :waughh: Well this particular issue has me completely bushed. There is no way I can get it to change screen orientation under Mint no matter how I twist and turn the Laptop. The only explanation I can think of is this particular Motherboard has a gyroscope chip on it, for some unknown reason, and Fedora has found it and set it up as a tablet????? Way left field I know, but Im real curious. HELP. :D |

I guess it doesnt really matter because Fedora has gone but it sure was one from left field. :D |

In Mint, at least, there are tons of GUI tools to do what most do via Terminal. And should you need to use it, I have found googling will show you what commands you need. It's not like you MUST run through terminal all the time now, it's a choice. |
