| 1445233 | 2018-01-25 06:53:00 | Yeah, I'm of the opinion that it'll take many months or years to achieve decent architecture which gives a fix and good performance, so any short term fixes will likely suffer the greatest performance hit. If the vulnerabilities worry you, then go AMD, as I understand their issue is the least significant vulnerability. Personally, I'm more concerned about getting the patch. I'd sooner keep the vulnerability. It's not an easy exploit, and I'm not a target, and it's not worth anyone pouring through a zillion pages of data nabbed from the CPU in the hope that they might just spot a password in there somewhere. Using cloud services for processing or storage is the key danger. Joe average at home - more likely to get something useful with the old phone scam than from tapping into the CPU. |
