Did a Google & founds heaps of ways to delete it, tried them all but none worked....has 55gb in it so wasting my space.... Can someone please give me an easy way to remove this folder with extreme prejudice ? Thanks |

| 1445823 | 2018-02-02 01:10:00 | Try using the remove directory rmdir command from the command line. First though, the folder has to be empty, so go into the folder and delete the files. It tells you how, more or less, here technet.microsoft.com It is the same as deleting a folder in DOS. |

| 1445825 | 2018-02-02 02:39:00 | Yeah, more than likely the drive has issues, 55GB is a lot to have in there. You can download Speedfan (www.almico.com) which will let you do a SMART check. |

| 1445826 | 2018-02-02 03:09:00 | What happens when you try & del, whats the error message Does some of it delete, then stops if..... if it has a file with the filename too long(from maybee a tmp internet file) , or too many nested folders , Win will simply refuse to delete it . Ever . If thats the issue you'll need to use a Linux boot disk to remove it. Could also be a permission issue, or a corrupt drive , or contents of that folder too corrupt for Win . Win can be quite fussy sometimes with corruption & too long filenames etc, and refuse any attempt at deletion , via any sort of app or Dos command |

| 1445828 | 2018-02-04 18:41:00 | thanks guys when I try at dos command line to delete it as admin it says don't have permission to delete eventhough logged in as admin...also won't allow any sub directories to be deleted so am also thinking perhaps corrupted?? I did I clean install on it on 1/1 as ran okay 31/12 with no probs but when started 1/1 would only go into recovery thingy...mbr screwed I guess? since I have clean installed there have been no more added entries in Found etc so does that imply software rather than the hdd at fault as just prior to the failure to boot it had several attempts at installing 1709 and finally installing okay 30/12 as it's w10 home...tested hdd and okay and runs good now..will test again with speedfan as wraterus.. Since it made several attempts at installing 1709 and restarting without video I had to power it off and was only after 4 attempts that I found pulling the dvi cable out of back of mon brought the video back so I'm thinking me powering it down perhaps caused the found.000 entries now??? Thanks for you help and appreciate any comments/advice where to go from here ...... |

If that fails try taking ownership of the folder: You can add a right click option to take ownership by editing the Registry. www.techjunkie.com there is also a takeownership utility at Winaero winaero.com |

| 1445830 | 2018-02-04 21:21:00 | Hi Terry yes did that as command prompt as admin but no luck...I will try again tomorrow or on the weekend again as determined to remove those 55gb's in found.000 Will try all the suggested tools...finger crossed....did try taking ownership by adding myself as named admin but still no luck and will play again...hopefully your tools will help... |
