All I can remember of 2000 was drinking champagne with SWMBO and a very good long time lady friend (since deceased) on the beach at Bayview. Then full English breakfast and more bubbly after! That was great!! Ken :) |

Sea levels have been much higher & lower Its part of the natural cycle. Humans are accelerating things into a warmer part of the natural cycle, faster than usual . "Wild variations in solar activity can push the earth into prolonged ice ages or cover the planet with sweltering jungles and burning deserts." | 1486383 | 2022-05-29 00:59:00 | I am sitting in a sheltered spot here in Auckland . The atmospheric temperature out of the sun is 70F (about 19C) . My old fashioned thermometer shows that in direct line with the Sun shows a temp of 102F (about 35C) . Considering that this is one month before the shortest day, I think it remarkable to have such a temperature at this time of the year . . . The reading on a thermometer placed in direct sunlight is more or less meaningless if you are wanting the air temperature . |

That was great!! Ken :) You were a bit premature with your breakfast Ken because the new Millennium didn’t take place until Midnight GMT or UTC . At that time it was 1300hrs in NZ because we were GMT/UTC + 13hrs . I can’t believe so many beat the gun . :D |

The small Pacific island nations of Tonga, Samoa and Kiribati are the first countries to welcome New Year. January 1 begins here at 10 am GMT or 3:30 pm IST on December 31. |
