The Yank influence once more? What is happening to Kiwi English? That's the reason I started this post. Controversy is now being pronounced the Yankee way the same as quite a few other words. I don't want to be a Yank. I have no desire to speak the same as them. Next thing you know we'll be driving on the other side of the road and have railway (railroad?) locomotives with bells dinging all over the place. No thank you. And before you say so, I am not anti Yank as you may think - I am pro Kiwi. There's a big difference.
